The heart of every Medstrat system is the server. When used in conjunction with echoes, we call it our echoes Server, and likewise a Joints Server when used with Joints. An echoes Server resides in your office. A Joints Server resides in the cloud, hosted at Medstrat. In both cases it acts as a central storage point, manages all the image transfers and handles all image backups. In the following overview, we will focus on its use under echoes.

In a Medstrat PACS system, the echoes Server acts like a web server, but instead of serving up web pages, it serves images to the echoes Browser on computers in your office over your standard office Ethernet network. Because it acts like a web server, it allows the Medstrat PACS system to expand beyond the physical walls of your office. By means of a standard Internet connection, your Medstrat PACS system is accessible through the echoes Browser anywhere outside your office - home, hospital, smartphone, etc. With the flexibility of the echoes Server, everything you do inside your office can be done outside your office.

Free Up Some Office Space

A good way to think about the power of the echoes Server is to picture the room or area where you store your entire film library. One echoes Server, which typically is not much bigger than a tower PC, replaces your entire physical film library. Unlike your film library, as you acquire more and more images over time your echoes Server can grow with your needs without requiring any more physical storage space.

Hands-Off Maintenance

The echoes Server is a completely hands-off, maintenance-free system. After initial setup, it requires no maintenance, upgrades or troubleshooting by any of your staff. All of your images are even backed-up automatically in real-time and overflow images are automatically offloaded to Depots. Medstrat headquarters is remotely connected to every echoes Server and monitors everything to ensure proper operation and continued reliability. For increased stability of your operations we offer, as a purchasable option, a failover server which provides a completely redundant, secondary server that is automatically switched over to in the event it is needed to ensure your system is always available.

Every echoes Server is configured on proven hardware that is covered by our comprehensive hardware warranty. Our hardware and software provide the most stable, secure, accessible and expandable PACS solution available on the market.

 Unlike Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), our client-server architecture, with its on-site server, is available even when your practice cannot access the Internet, so your clinic will never be down due to an Internet disruption.
